Chemeketa announces finalists for Presidential Search

Finalists will participate in open forums week of Feb. 25
The Chemeketa Community College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that they have selected five finalists for the presidency of Chemeketa Community College. The board recruited a highly competitive pool of candidates from throughout the state, region and nation. President Julie Huckestein is retiring June 30, 2019.
The Chemeketa Community College presidential finalists are (in alphabetical order):
Jessica Howard, Ph.D., is Campus President, Southeast Campus, Portland Community College in Portland, OR. She previously served as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at San Antonio College in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Howard earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Performance Studies at New York University in New York, NY; a Master and Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Bachelor of Arts in English from Rice University in Houston, TX; and an Associate of Arts from San Antonio College in San Antonio, TX.
Kimberlee Messina, Ed.D., is Interim Vice President of Instruction at Clovis Community College in Clovis, CA. She previously served as Interim Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Planning at San Mateo County Community College District in San Mateo, CA. Dr. Messina earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at The University of California, Davis in Davis, CA; and a Master of Arts in Spanish and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento in Sacramento, CA.
Tod Treat, Ph.D., is Interim Vice President for Instruction at Wenatchee Valley College in Wenatchee, WA. He previously served as the Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, WA. Dr. Treat earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Urbana, IL; and a Master of Science in Chemistry from The University of Colorado at Boulder in Boulder, CO and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Urbana, IL.
Julie White, Ph.D., is Senior Vice President of Student Engagement and Learning Support at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. She previously served as Interim Provost and Senior Vice President at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. Dr. White earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership at The University of Rochester in Rochester, NY; a Master of Education in Counseling from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH; and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
Robert Wynegar, Ed.D., is President of the College of The Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC. He previously served as the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Western Nevada College in Carson City, NV. Dr. Wynegar earned a Doctor of Education at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA; a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattanooga, TN; and a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN.
Each presidential finalist will participate in an open forum. Open forums will be held the week of Feb. 25. Specific dates and times are forthcoming. All forums are open to all faculty, administrators, staff, students, and the general public.
