Chemeketa Community College, in partnership with Salem-Keizer Public Schools and MAPS Credit Union, will host the annual Salem Area College and Career Fair on October 16, 2023, at 4000 Lancaster Drive in the Building 7 gymnasium. Salem area students and their families are encouraged to attend. This event is free, open to the public, and has free parking. The fair hours will be from 6 pm to 8 pm.

The fair, which has been held annually for over twenty-five years, welcomed more than 1,000 visitors in 2022. This year Chemeketa, along with sixty other colleges, universities, and industries, will showcase their offerings to students and their families.

"We look forward to working with colleges, employers, and industries to share information and engage with Salem area high school students, their families, and the community,” said James McNicholas of Student Recruitment, Enrollment & Graduation Services at Chemeketa Community College. "College- and career-bound students can ask questions, explore interests, and even enter a scholarship drawing. We encourage all that are interested to attend the college and career fair.”

High school seniors attending a Salem-Keizer public high school will have a chance to win one of several educational scholarships, thanks to generous donations from MAPS Credit Union. To learn more about the event, contact Natalie Nieuburrt, Salem-Keizer Public Schools, at nieubuurt_natalie@salkeiz.k12.or.us
