The community is invited to join Chemeketa Community College in welcoming Clackamas Community College President Dr. Tim Cook as he arrives at the Salem campus on Tuesday, July 22, as part of his 1,500+ mile run to all 17 of Oregon’s community colleges.

Dr. Cook is expected to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 AM (arrival time is approximate and may vary depending on road conditions). Community members are encouraged to gather at the Cherriots Bus Turnaround in front of Building 2 to give him a spirited welcome. Everyone is invited to bring cheerful, decorated signs congratulating Dr. Cook and showing support for his inspiring mission.

Dr. Cook’s run—called ROCCS (Run for Oregon Community College Students)—aims to raise awareness and support for the basic needs of Oregon’s 200,000 community college students, including housing and food insecurity, child care, and transportation. Funds raised will directly benefit students across the state. Donations can be made at https://www.givecampus.com/campaigns/55950/donations/new?tc=39966, and his journey can be followed on Instagram at @run4orccstudents.

Come help make Dr. Cook’s stop at Chemeketa one of the most memorable moments of his journey. Let’s show the strength of our community—and our commitment to supporting students!
