The Student Ambassador

MEET KRISTINA

"I love Chemeketa because it has provided me with a community of friends that are all supporting my academic success.”

Kristina story

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Kristina started working full-time and taking classes at Chemeketa online. Online school was new to her and it seemed overwhelming and difficult to navigate. She considered dropping out, but after reaching out to her professors, she found the guidance she needed. The pieces felt like they were coming together and since she loves to travel, she decided to explore classes in hospitality. Once she learned about the program and started reviewing the material, Kristina instantly fell in love with the subject and made herself at home with Chemeketa.

Over the past two years, Kristina has been working part-time and enrolled in four classes each term to earn her associate's in applied science and five hospitality certificates. Along with working as a barista, she works as a student ambassador at the Yamhill Valley Campus. “This has been an excellent opportunity to exercise my event planning skills and get more involved with student life on campus. I love Chemeketa because it has provided me with a community of friends that are all supporting my academic success.” Kristina thanks her helpful advisors and appreciates the services provided by Chemeketa's team to ensure that every student feels seen.
