Salem Tutoring & Study Skills Center has online services for remote learning summer term 2020

Service updates for Summer 2020

The Tutoring & Study Skills Center is here to support your remote learning with several virtual options for academic assistance.

Services are free for any student currently enrolled in credit classes. 

  • Online tutoring via eTutoring is available for a variety of subjects
    • New for Summer 2020: Your eTutoring account is now active. No need to register for a CRN!
      • Go to and enter your MyChemeketa username and password
      • Click the "eTutoring" button
  • Appointment-based online tutoring is also available 
    • Math, writing, and ASL tutoring are available summer term
    • Book an appointment on MyChemeketa
  • Workshops in Study Skills are also free and open to current students
    • View the workshop schedule and register on MyChemeketa
  • Drop-in Information Sessions - New!
    • Visit the dedicated Zoom room to ask questions, get answers, and learn about Tutoring & Study Skills services
    • Drop in any time during the hour, get what you need, and stay as long or short as you like
    • Monday - Thursday 10:30 - 11:30am and 3:00 - 4:00pm



  • Tutoring by Appointment

    Schedule a free one-on-one session with a Chemeketa tutor. Just See the Studying tab on My Chemeketa

    When you book an appointment, you'll get a confirmation email with a Zoom link. When it's time for your appointment, sinply click the link to get started. During the tutoring session, you can share your screen so the tutor can see what assignment you're working on. You'll also be able to chat using a webcam, microphone, keyboard, or phone. 


    Math Tutoring

    Use the "whiteboard" feature in Zoom to write and work through math questions with a tutor, or share your screen to show your work. See the Studying tab on My Chemeketa to schedule an appointment. 

    Language Tutoring

    The Tutoring and Study Skills Center offers free, appointment-based language tutoring for –

    • Chinese
    • American Sign Language (ASL)

    Appointments are available in the Studying tab on My Chemeketa

    Writing Tutoring

    One-on-one virtual sessions with a writing tutor available in the Studying tab on My Chemeketa. Share your screen to work through a draft or use the "whiteboard" feature in Zoom to talk through some brainstorming. 

    Another online writing support resource is the Chemeketa Online Writing Center.

  • Study Skills & Writing Workshops

    All virtual workshops are free and all Chemeketa students are welcome!

    Pre-register using the Workshop CRN up to one day before the workshop's scheduled date.

    The workshop will be added to your courses on Blackboard after you register.

    Note: All workshops will be held via ZOOM (desktop or mobile app required) on the days and times speficied.
